Why do the versions still say preview5? Beta 1 promotes the exact verified preview 5 binaries. Their displayed version labels are intentional; the files have not been rebuilt or repacked. The provenance documents identify the original application sources.

GET YOUR CONTROLS CONNECTED

A quick setup.

01

Check your devices

Connect the controls to Windows, install the normal vendor driver where needed, and verify axes and buttons locally. Install the matching beta Host on the Linux gaming PC with controller input and its normal uinput permissions enabled.

02

Enable forwarding

Close another running Client, extract the ZIP and open the beta. In Settings → Gamepad Settings, enable Forward joysticks and wheels (preview), then start a new stream. Standard force feedback has its own checkbox.

03

Bind controls in-game

Select Maximizer Wheel/Joystick in your game and bind steering, pedals, gears, buttons and hats. Forwarding is automatic; game-specific actions usually need an in-game profile. Separate USB pedals and shifters appear separately.

Use the game and driver settings for calibration, inversion and deadzones. Check the game’s Steam Input or direct-joystick settings if needed. Ordinary supported gamepads retain their existing mappings.

FEEDBACK / YOUR SETUP MATTERS

Tell us how it feels.

Try the full control range, simultaneous pedals, short presses, multiple accessories, unplug/replug, reconnect and focus changes. Test with force feedback off, then with supported standard effects enabled, followed by a longer session in your game.

After the session, choose Settings → Gamepad Settings → Export device diagnostics. The report is saved in Windows Documents and contains the latest stream sample.

  • Device model, connection mode and vendor driver version.
  • Windows, Linux, Client and Host versions.
  • Game title and Proton version, if used.
  • What worked, what failed and how to reproduce it.

Send diagnostics and matching Client/Host logs through your usual support channel.

  • Up to 16 supported standard force-feedback effects per device.
  • Minimal devices may expose up to two extra, always-released classification buttons. Bind the real controls.
